Our experience is that it is NOT the water or food (Desire is VERY careful about food temps, clean food service, using bottled water in food prep, etc). It is more a combination of lots of drinking, eating richer foods than our normal diet, and dehydration (the body needs a glass of water to compensate for each alcohol serving ~~ it is a BIG challenge to get enough water). Top those off with late nights, accidental swallowing of ocean or hot tub water

, etc. and you have a good formula for tummy troubles!
But when it happens, it can put a damper on the trip. One of us pops a Pepto or two each morning and that seems to tame the issue all week. The other of us only uses Pepto at first signs of discomfort. Either way, wouldn't leave home without the Pepto and a stash of Imodium JUST IN CASE. Glad to know Desire has a product that sounds even better than Imodium.... Thanks Silvie and Gerry for the info!
