Eyes Wide Shut question

Can anyone who's been to Desire lately update us on the details of the Eyes Wide Shut night? We've heard from others on this board that it the activity there ranges from lame and awkward to erotic and very fun. We'd heard there might be 'partner switching' now involved and that it lasts longer than 10-15 minutes. Also, heard that the event changed somewhat and now it's better than it had been. Any recent updates would be appreciated.

We were just at Desire for our first visit in April. Had no idea what to expect and had read all the same posts re: Eyes Wide Shut. We arrived at Desire that Wednesday evening just a couple of hours before EWS ceremony started. I have to tell you, it vastly exceeded our expectations. The ceremony is very similar to the movie - if you haven't seen it in a while I suggest you watch it before you go. There are dancers that start the show and they're great, and then they assist the master of ceremonies in soliciting audience participation. By the way, there were a few womein that were picked out to participate that declined and there was no pressure, as there are quite a few willing participants. My wife was picked to go out on the floor, and if you're familiar, the women are in an inner circle facing their spouses, drop their robes and then remove clothing as ordered by the MC. The women then are directed to move around the circle one space (the men in the outer circle stay put) and perform some task - kissing or be kissed, etc... they continue to move and it gets progressively more physical and is VERY erotic. Anybody that was there that didn't enjoy it, well, I'm not sure what would turn those folks on. We're pretty new to this and very monogamous, and my wife (and I) were pretty willing contestants but she got cold feet toward the end and we dropped out - no harm no foul - but we thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the evening. The ceremony ends with just the women in the center of the circle and they are caressing and fondling and then it kind of breaks up. The whole thing lasts maybe 20-25 minutes. We will definitely be going back and we won't miss EWS. Both of us think that now we would stay in the ceremony to the end if picked again!!

Good question and we had the same one before going. Some women were topless, but most wore sexy underthings, which they wound up taking off during the ceremony - but if folks are hanging around the disco to dance they kind of have to have something to put back on. Although come to think of it my wife just wore a g-string w/ no top and we hung around and danced most of the night. I wasn't really paying attention to what the other guys were wearing but I had on silk boxers and a t-shirt.

Did you bring your own cape and mask or do they have them at the resort?

I brought my own mask, but borrowed one of the capes from the resort.

in the lobby they hand out masks and robes for those that go and pick them up. that's what we did. couple of thoughts - 1. not everybody there that night had a mask and robe, so I assume they ran out - something to consider. 2. we will strongly consider bringing our own mask next time 3. once the masks and robes came off I have no idea where they went - it was a serious party at that point. I was kind of worried we might get billed for them as we had to give our room number when we picked them up, but that wasn't the case.

Just a point; we found that masks and spectacles don't mix so we dumped the masks.

One thing I would like to mention/ask of anyone going to EWS. If you don't want to participate, please, please be respectful of those who are participating and watching. Chatter, laughter, cheering all really disrupt the "ceremony". If you aren't interested, stay down at the lobby area until it's over.
We were recently there and experienced two EWS nights. The first was a great very erotic, wonderful experience. We figured we would watch it the second time around. We couldn't believe the number of people talking, laughing etc. which was just frustrating and really ruined the experience. It's simple enough, we're adults, please be respectful. There are lots of opportunities and places to be rowdy.

Agree about EWS...It's fun and erotic...more than any theme night in our opinion and it only last a short while. Those watching should be quietly respectful of those participating

Just FYI, When we were there 2 weeks ago (May 5th) the EWS was pretty much as laphroig described it except that it ended as above PLUS the men were invited up on stage with the women for about 1 minute, before it was called to an end. Many woman didn't seem too cool with this, as the women were being touched by men without given the chance to consent or not. We saw several woman that were "busy"and didnt hear the MC call up the men and had a total "deer in headlights"look when they realized the men were now with them on stage.

I guess they are trying to see just how far they can push the envelope and not sure if they will keep that or not.

The new cirque do soleil type show at the beginning was very cool though.

I would think, like in everything else at Desire, that the men invited up on the stage would go their partner, and not think that by allowing them up on stage that that gives them permission to touch other women without consent.

Doesn't sound like the "respect card" was played by some of the men. And that just makes it no fun for anyone.

I, for one, would appreciate it if my man was allowed up on stage to be with ME up there.
