Pictures of the new disco

Pictures of the new disco were posted on the Yahoo "Desire_Cancun_March_2010_Attendees" site. I didn't think the poster there would mind if I copied them in here for the benefit of the people on this site.

The 1st picture was taken in the middle of the dance floor. They removed the old wall that was behind the bar. The windows that you see were the ones in the back of the old playroom.

The mirror that you see in the 2nd picture is on the wall that separates the bathroom area.

The 3rd picture shows some of the beds along the wall of the disco. This area had the small round tables and high bar chairs before.

The 4th and 5th pictures are looking towards the area that was the disco lounge area previously.

The 6th picture is in the new playroom which is now to the left of the bar. Essentially behind the wall with the beds in the 3rd picture. Those are just some of the play beds. That is indeed a sex swing on the left side. There are additional play beds that were not shown..

There is a raised platform in the middle of the dance floor but as of Sunday night there were not any poles there.

I'm just trying to get my bearings a bit. I"m assuming the last photo is the new playroom...based on the swing on the left? However, I'm just trying to see where the dance floor is and whether or not they have poles that come out at night?

What a tremendous upgrade! Fantastic!!!

Have they made mention of any of their proposed daytime uses?

WOW...doesn't even look like the same place!. I don't care for the color combinations, but it sure is better than the old disco. Are those beds in the disco itself? Looks like there will be lots of shows....lol. Looks like the bar is on the opposite of the disco where the long couches were in "the dark". Hopefully the DJ was renovated as well as the disco was...lol

Wow. That looks amazing. What a transformation ! Way more than I was expecting. I believe that centre bed moves at night to become the dance floor ??

Can't wait to get there in 32 Days !

We think it looks beautiful but we are still trying to figure out what was where? Did they knock out the wall between the old bar and the playroom? Where is the dance floor now?

We were comparing the "new" photos on the actual Desire site and it just confused the issue more.


Oh well,we'll wait for for more photos and we will just have to hold tight til our trip to experience it for ourselves!

We left on the 19th, before the disco was opened, so can't comment on the new layout, but over in the Trip Report section, under "Live trip report, March 24-29", "2good4better" writes:

"Last night Desire let our group have a meet & greet inside the new disco. While all the work wasn't completed we saw the inside and we were amazed. They have done an incredible job and the new disco looks nothing like it did before. It's much brighter and modern looking. There are palapa beds along the sides of the room and the bar, instead of being along one wall as before, is now circular.

The DJ booth is in approximately the same place as before but the playroom is now on the side of the disco opposite the DJ booth. The new playroom isn't ready for good times just yet but it has a much more upgraded feel than the old one did.

Another addition to the disco is a new balcony right where the side entrance was/is. If you come up the outside stairs there is the same hallway as before but there is a sliding door that opens on to the balcony. This has a long table and chairs."

We could see the new balcony area and it has a nice view over the open air Melange Bar

Great post! This cures our main complaint when comparing Desire to one of our other favorite clubs in Tampa Can't wait to check it out in July. Does anyone have an overhead drawing/schematic to show the overall plan? Management?

We arrive on Friday and can't wait to see and try out the new disco and playroom. If I can get a decent wireless connection I will report back with our impressions.
This really could be a "Good Friday"
