Desire RM or Desire Pearl

Maybe this has been asked, I'm sure it has. Which resort do you like better? We spent 10 days at RM last year and were trying to decide which one to visit in 2014.

We just returned from Pearl, we have been to Rm in the past. Everybody is going to have there own opinion on this, but we loved Pearl so much. Room, grounds, pool, beach, people, hot tub and drinks were better in our opinion. We did go to the foam party at Rm this trip. The party was better then Pearl, but the hot tub was too crowded and the drinks were awful! You cant go wrong with both resorts, but we will return to Pearl next trip for sure.

Ncvette is right, everyone will have different opinions. I love both hotels, and it just depends on the crowd that's there. When I was at pearl the last time, it was more of a retirement home, with the average age of guests in their 60s, and not a lot of lifestyle couples, mostly nudists, where RM had a skills younger crowd each time we go. The food at pearl is good, but nothing beats the service at RM. the theme nights and entertainment at RM were a little better then pearl with more participation as well. I'd say split them if you can. Party and have fun at RM and relax and unwind at Pearl!

Tiffany998, you are right about the party scene. Better at DR, but I was worried about the age thing also. Turns out I was the elder of our big group of new friends at 46! We met any people as young as 24 (just married) and up. Most that week were 30-40's that we met. We talked to a group in the hot tub who came over for a visit from DR and loved the fact you could actually get a drink, talk to people and enjoy yourself and others in a large area (hot tub). The age group was a big surprise for us, but that may change week to week.

We too have visited both resorts and for us, by far, we prefer Pearl for many of the statements made. During our last visit in June, there was a large crowd ... much fun all day and all night! We will return to Pearl next June from the 10th through the 17th. The weather is always great that time of year and the cost is down a bit. We would love for all readers of this to join us ... I will buy the drinks!
