What to wear?

This is our 1st time to this type of resort? Aside from no clothes what do people usually wear in the evenings and at the disco? We are going in October? I see a James Bond night - isnt it too warm to be wearing a suit? For the ladies is it formal dress wear? The Foam Party - I am assuming swim trunks for men and bathing suit for wife am I wrong? And any other tips on what to take would be greatly helpful. Being our first time, or lifestyle virgins if you want to call it that we are a little shy baring it all so we want to take something to wear at all times should we feel uncomfortable, however, if we are comfortable then we may not need all the clothes we take. We are very excited as it sounds like a lot of fun and will help us explore our boundaries. Anything you can share is greatly appreciated.

So from what I am reading it is bathing suits for the foam party. For the James bond party a suit and tie is a bit much for a guy.. generally khakis and polo shirt is the way to go for all nights except foam party night. For the ladies its dresses and seductive outfits. Sound about right?

The main thing is don't get too hung up on the what to wear question. You will see all sorts of outfits and nobody will make a judgement. We did see someone in a dinner suit for the Casino night but only one. My advice:

For the lady - sexy dresses, can be revealing but need not be.. depends on her comfort level..
For the guy - in the evening smart casual. Long trousers if you want to eat in the restaurants (buffet will allow shorts) and a shirt.
Think about what you would like to see.. imho sexy classy works really well.. many of the women observe few men make an effort with their dress, so you have an opportunity

Don't forget the closed toed shoes for the male. I believe there is only one restaurant that allows shorts and sandals for dinner.

I guess another thing I encourage, is try and dress in as much theme costumes as you can! It's a great way to start conversations and meet people. Plus it's so fun dressing up and doing things you normally can't or wouldn't do back home! And this goes for both the Mr and the Mrs.

To help you out, here's a question for you.

If you and your wife where going out to a very upscale restaurant with her dressed up in a very provocative and sexy outfit and the two of you where in the company of several other couples also nicely dressed up for a special evening - would you wear jeans to the occasion ??

Thanks for the reply, although the jeans question was regarding my wife. She will take with her some stunning dresses and outfits, but she also looks very hot and sexy in jeans.

Ladies can pretty much wear(or not wear) anything they want at Desire - although in close to 30 trips to the Desire properties, I can't recall any ladies wearing jeans to any of the restaurants in the evenings..........
