Day Visit to Pearl

We will be arriving at DRM 2 weeks from today (longest 2 weeks of our life!) and are considering spending a day at Pearl - we are assuming the DRM office can call for a cab for us - same at Pearl for the return trip - does anyone know the cost of the cab? We know it will cost us $25 each way to Claudia's, so is Pearl closer to DRM than Claudia? Also, we are assuming we have to pay cash for any drinks/food we may want at Pearl or can we charge it to our room at DRM? Thanks.

We are hoping to do the same in October. I was under the impression we only had to pay anything IF we were staying at Pearl for dinner. Hope someone can clarify.

As long as there is no takeover at Pearl while you are there visiting for the day should be fine - just check with Adriana who is Guest services manager at Riviera Maya

Desire has arranged "special" taxi pricing between the resorts - it's $15 USD per couple each way

The only charge wile visiting is if you want to stay for dinner and I believe the charge for that is $25 per person.

There wasn't any charge for dinner at Pearl when we went.
You may ask front desk person or GSM at RM to call Pearl and advise them you are coming.
Pearl only suggest you arrive early 6:30-7:30 for dinner.

We were at DRM earlier this year and went to Pearl for the day.

We hopped in a cab and took off ($25)- the atmosphere was GREAT. They had an awesome DJ spinning poolside and there were some VERY playful people at the pool. We ate lunch at their buffet - which was very good. The beach was nice, very shady - but there were a TON of families walking past. We hopped in their hot tub pretty early - I think we were the first there (there were no spots poolside) and it is everything everyone says about it... awesome. There are several poolside beds that were being used. The hot tub is massive - and the bar staff was wonderful. I was somewhat sad to leave. We actually were able to hop in a cab with another DRM couple on the way home.

I'd be happy to stay at Pearl in the future... they were having just as much fun as DRM guest!

Just got back from 3rd trip to DRM last night. Originally we sere scheduled to go to Pearl but after reading a lot of TRs we rescheduled for DRM. So we did a day trip to see for ourselves what it was like. The property is beautiful, ocean did have rocks and water was deeper before you got into the weeds and grass unlike DRM, also swimming off the pier amazing. Water was 7-10'deep (guessing) and the weeds and grass were a good way from the pier making excellent swimming and photo ops. We were the only ones on the pier. There was was plenty of shade on beach and we only seen 2 families walking the beach while we were there. Did not see anyone in hot tub while we were there Pool was huge and we were the only ones in the quite end. Food at the buffet was good. Taxi ride was $15.00 each way and they are there in a matter of minutes. When we return we will be staying at Pearl

Does anyone know if there a time at Pearl of when they kick you out,like if you want to stay and watch their entertainment or try out their disco?

I was wondering the same thing too- about staying at Pearl for the evening. As a RM guest, are we allowed to go there for dinner and/or participate in the theme nights? They have a couple of theme nights at Pearl that arent at RM that we would like to attend. If so, to avoid returning to RM, is there a place to shower and get dressed for the evening? Otherwise, how would one get to Pearl dressed for the occassion?

@babygirl63 - you might be able to pay to use the Pearl spa area to shower and change - just check with Adriana who is Guest services manager at Riviera Maya to see if that's possible.....

Does anyone know how far it is from Desire Pearl to Wet Set diving shop? We are staying at DRM over labor day and would like to go snorkeling with Wet Set, then possibly check out Desire Pearl.

WetSet is right in the town of Puerto Morelos, but just tell your taxi driver WetSet and they will know where
(taxi fee from EM to WetSet will be 250 pesos or $25 USD one way)
