Walmart, Stores of any kind near Desire?

Hi all! This is our first trip to Desire Cancun and I'd like to know if there is a store near the hotel where you can buy liquor and or if you need to buy something you forgot like a Walmart or a Supermarket? Desire Cabo had a Supermarket that sold liquor right across the street which was so convinient since they do not serve Crown Royal Whiskey, which my hubby drinks. Any help would be appreciated! K&J

There is an on site gift/tuck shop that carries basics - tanning lotion, aspirin, ointments, viagra, and some Desire like ladies clothes, etc

If you are looking for other stuff such as a specific brand of liquor, you will have to go either up(north) to Cancun(there is a WalMart there with a liquor section) or down(south) to Playa del Carmen.

Desire is about half way between Cancun and Playa so the taxi fare is about the same either way but personally I find Playa a lot more interesting to visit and shop than Cancun

Hi, JC here. I have found 3 Walmarts in Cancun. One is only 20 mins from Desire.. There is also Sams club, but.... and Costco. I have heard there is yet a 4th Walmart. Our next trip we will be looking for it. If you cant find walmart...Chedraui stores are just as wonderful. a little less expensive. Bodega is a store owned by Walmart. Walmart is the first place we go to, we get our supplies, and hit the road. Have a great trip!
