Week of Nov 28th

This will be our first time to Desire....Are there going to be any Groups there that week? Also,to get this week we went through booking.com and got this reserved but have not paid anything yet. Was told by the hotel that we have a reservation and will be charged at check in. Is this normal. Used travel agents before and had to pay up front.

After looking at the Master Groups and Events calendar on the forum it doesn't appear that there are any large groups booked in that particular week.

Regarding your "reservation" Desire has always had a policy that either booking directly with Desire or through any of the travel agents that your must pay completely in advance and then have a reservation/confirmation number that is given to you by Desire or your TA.

Just a thought - It might be that Desire has already pre authorized the total amount owing with your CC company and you will be charged regardless if you show up or not - yes, they can do that !!!

I would be very suspicious unless you have that Desire reservation/confirmation number that you should check directly with Desire......

We will also be there the week of the 28. We go through RCI and we pay when we get to the resort. We have done this in the past without any issues

Which rooms do RCI use? I've tried to find out from both RCI and the resort but nothing back from either.

Hi, We are RCI members and they don't have any different rooms to the rest of Desire - just depends on what you pay for eg Passion Suite, Garden Rooms etc. We always have a Garden View and never been disappointed - who spends time in their room??!!!

Over here RCI have 2 types of room - "Intimate" and "Romance"; and I can't find out which these are.

CokeMann....thanks for the reply. I have called the hotel twice because I was skeptical on this whole process. I was given a confirmation number both times and they even asked me about transfer options which I scheduled. Was told both times thta I would be charged upon check in. This is new to me. Paid for airfare but not resort? Guess we will see.

As long as you have the Desire confirmation/booking number you should be OK - knowing Desire as I do, I believe that they(Desire) have already pre authorized the total or at least several days amount owing with your CC company and you will be charged regardless if you show up or not.
