First trip to Pearl - July 17, 2025

This was our first trip to Pearl or any other resort. We are not in the LS but have visited clubs for about a year now. We could describe ourselves as a couple in our 40s, married for 20 years, and still figuring out how far we want to go in our experiences. That said, we had the most fantastic time! The days were fun; my wife and I managed to grow closer with each new experience, and we certainly expect to return as many times as possible. Reviews in this forum were very helpful before our trip, so we wanted to share our experience as soon as possible.

Traveling and check-in were pretty standard. We took a direct flight from Boston and followed the advice of experienced travelers who suggested bringing carry-on luggage only, which made the process much faster. We also managed to find our transportation outside the airport easily (note: we had hired it through Desire’s website). At Pearl, we received a glass of champagne upon arrival and were given a detailed explanation at the check-in desk and from our concierge about how things generally work at the resort. We had pretty much read and chatted about everything before, but I believe it would be useful for first timers who still have questions. We agreed to join the membership meeting, which took place two days later. We had no issue with the meeting. It was fast and friendly, and they accepted gracefully our response (i.e., we would consider it in the future but couldn’t do it now).

Room – We had an ocean-view room. It was big and comfortable. Nice bed and pillows, a balcony with a view of the pool and the beach, and a nice shower. We got to know two other rooms, one with a small pool (plunge) on the beach side. We plan to get that room next time. We didn’t visit the mansion, but it sure looks great. The rooms will soon benefit from updates, particularly if we consider the standards established by the rest of the resort.

Staff – Amazing, just amazing – we have no other words. Everyone is gentle and helpful 100% of the time, and they went above and beyond with every request. Service by the pool is particularly excellent, including the pool concierge, waiters, and bartenders. Saying goodbye to some staff members was special, to say the least.
We mentioned at check-in that our anniversary was approaching soon. They offered us a special lunch and dinner, complete with separate dishes and decorations, in addition to setting up our room with flowers and a “happy anniversary” message. Those are small things, but they still brought smiles to my wife and me.
An important note here: we tipped often. Staff members expect it, and almost every guest does it. We traveled with $5 and $10 bills and used those bills to tip for housekeeping, at the pool, restaurants, and bars.

Food – Food was great, all the time. We mostly had breakfast later, closer to 10 a.m., had some tacos by the pool for lunch, and had dinner at Aphrodite most days, and went to Pearl once. The breakfast menu features the standard options typically found in good US hotels, along with some local specialties. Taste and freshness were impeccable. The Mexican menu at Aphrodite (for Saturday dinner) was amazing, along with our special lunch. The staff at the restaurants is excellent, as is the case in other sectors of the hotel.

Beach – This is the only negative aspect of our experience. Summer is sargassum season, and despite the resort staff’s efforts to clean it up, the beach becomes overrun with seaweed and sometimes develops an unpleasant smell. People who are used to visiting Pearl mentioned that this year was one of the worst. We didn’t really care about it, as you don’t feel it much by the pool, but we didn’t even consider staying at the beach beds.

Nudity – It has been pretty clear to us that this varies by week. In our week, it is safe to say that 70% of men were fully naked. Among women, about 70% had their bottoms on, 30% were fully nude, and 2-3 women were fully dressed. One of these 3 was my wife, who proceeded to remove her top by day 3 and got fully nude on day 4. That said, the message here is that NOBODY CARES. People don’t care if you are fit or out of shape, how old you are, or if you are nude or not. It is a very accepting environment. We met some very nice people, with whom we hope to reconnect during our upcoming visits.

Entertainment – Pearl has a more laid-back feel. Still, we had a great time at the pool, particularly with the foam party on Saturday. The hot tub was full every day by 5 pm and at night after the shows. We saw some action in the beds by the hot tub, but we certainly missed some as we didn’t return to the hot tub at night every day.
We scheduled the “erotic couples massage” and the “fantasy dinner”. They were both totally worth it. My wife, who was very shy at the beginning of our trip, absolutely loved both. In the spa, we had one male masseuse for her and a female for me. I was a little nervous at first, but when I heard her moaning for the first time, it just felt perfect. The dinner was at the disco, the food was great, and there was a show featuring two male and two female performers. The interactions with them were terrific, much more intense than in previous years, as noted by some friends we met who had attended that dinner before. They were both great opportunities for us to reconnect, and they were invaluable in making my wife relax and get comfortable. For our next visit, we plan to start our trip with the in-room strip show, as an extended version of the dinner show.

Disco – We would dress for dinner at 7:00 and then change into our theme party clothes, which started at 9:00. We had separate clothes/costumes for each day. It was a lot of fun, ever since my wife started picking her outfits, trying them on before our trip, and then wearing them at dinner and for the theme parties. People would go to the disco after the show, sometime between 10:00 and 11:00, and stay for no longer than an hour. The disco is nice, but most people would quickly move to the hot tub area, their own rooms, or even the playroom, which is adjacent to the disco.

Playroom – The playroom is tiny, which is certainly a limitation. Contrary to other reports, couples played in the playroom every day during our visit. It was nice if you were there, but I can’t help but think that it would be much better to have a large playroom occupying part of the disco.

Hot tub – People would move to the hot tub area every day by 5, and many would get back after the show at night. Water was nice, not too hot, and service at the bar was great. There were pool beds all around the area, where we saw a few couples briefly play during the day. We didn’t see much by night, but as mentioned above, we weren’t really there at those times.

In summary, we 100% recommend Pearl and plan to return at least once a year. We met great people who made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived, and we certainly hope to meet them again. If you are a couple looking to reconnect, or expand your experiences in your marriage, this is your place. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We’d be happy to answer them. See you in the summer of 2026!

Thank you for your post. Question, honestly, how were the rooms you saw? Did they feel dates, because they look dates on the website, or were they nice? My wife and I are considering going to Pearl and being able to have sex wherever was priority number 1 and priority 2 is that the room is. Ice. I know it’s odd to say that because we’re really never in the room, but it’s a psychological thing on our part. At DRM, the old rooms are dates and the Eden is stunning in comparison, but not when compared to 5 star all inclusive resorts, then they’re just standard.

Please share details on the room and about seeing people have fun, in the pool area and in the beach.

We thought the room was large, comfortable, and super clean. We had a king bed which was great, and there was more than enough room for couples to play if they wanted. However, if we are focused on the room's design, then yes, we agree that it may look dated, particularly if you're comparing it to upgraded 5-star hotel rooms. We didn't really care about it, but you do have a point. I can't say about the rooms at the mansion, as we didn't visit them. They might be far superior to the standard ones.

About our experiences at the pool and the hot tub - you could have minor interactions in the pool area, and most people were naked all the time, but sex is not allowed in that area. We got to the hot tub during the afternoons and saw 2-3 couples making out and some oral, but not more than that on the beds around it. Based on other people's report, we might have seen more action at the hot tub after the disco, but we didn't really go there at night. We stayed at the disco, went to the playroom twice, and also met some nice people.

Finally, the beach. Very few people stayed at the beach beds, mostly because of the sargassum.
