Better Late Than Never - Trip Report 1/11-1/14 - First Time

Hey Guys,

Really appreciate everyone's previous trip reports so I wanted to add my own. Life has been busy, and I know it's a little late but still wanted to share my thoughts. We visited Pearl for a long weekend back on Jan 11 - 14th. This was our first time going to a resort like this. We are not in the lifestyle but were looking for a "spicier" vacation. We actually had a trip planned to Desire Miches in Jan 2024 but it closed 3 weeks before our trip and we had to pivot. And for context, I am 46 and my wife is 42.

Overall we loved our visit! But to be honest, the first hour or two was a little bit of a sensory overload.:) But once that passed, we settled in and had a great time. We had an early flight and arrived at the resort around noon. We were able to check in but our room wasn't ready yet. So we had a couple drinks and grabbed lunch at Aphrodite and our room was ready about an hour later. Here's what we thought about the various aspects of our stay.

Check In - Super simple of course but once you've checked in, you meet with the person who tries to get you to sign up for the presentation. My wife despises these things and we didn't have much time there so we declined. But the guy was persistent and tried asking about 6 different ways and we said no every time but by the end of it my wife was a little pissed he kept pushing. After that, there was never another mention of trying to get us to go.

Room - We just got a basic ocean view room and it was great! Plenty of space and they put us on the 4th floor so the view was pretty good and was overlooking the quiet pool and had a decent view of the beach. The resort isn't that big, so I appreciated our room being on the quite side and it was an easy walk to everywhere.

Staff - Absolutely amazing! Everyone we met was really friendly and eager to help. From the bell staff to the restaurants and everything in between, they were great. The playmakers did a great job of trying to get people involved in the activities and provide a great environment.

Food - We had lunch at Aphrodite every day and I thought it was average. Typical buffet food with nothing that stood out. There was also a BBQ and pizza for lunch outside which were both good. We ate at Suki the first night and we both really liked it. The second night we went to Pearl and we thought the food was excellent. We tried going back the last night but it was closed for a member event, which was disappointing so we went back to Suki for the last night.

Beach - The beach was nice and not a lot of seaweed. They have day beds down by the beach and that's where we parked ourselves every day. The lounge chairs and beds around the pool are taken early but there was always room down by the beach. We preferred a little quieter of an atmosphere, so it was perfect for us and no need to get up early to claim a spot by the pool. The one thing I never saw anyone mention was that there was a fair amount of people from other resorts walking by the beach. A lot of them would pretend not to look but they were definitely observing those by the beach and those they could see at the pool. Not a big deal for us because we signed up to be at a place where people were nude. But I felt awkward for them because that's not what they signed up for.:)

Nudity - I would guess about 75% of the people were fully nude. The rest of the men had their shorts on or the women kept their bottoms on with maybe 2 or 3 women who kept there top on at some point. Of course no one cared about what level of nudity you were comfortable with. However, later in the afternoon and evening in the hot tub, everyone was completely naked. Maybe because there was no risk of getting sunburned?:)

Entertainment - Overall we thought entertainment was poor. Not necessarily that the performers were bad but because the acts weren't sensual like we thought they'd be and they did everything in the lobby. For example, one night they had a girl playing a sax...for an hour. People would try and dance but after a bit, they lost interest. Also, doing the entertainment in the lobby is a bad idea. The ambiance is just terrible. Why not move it into the disco? It has a more intimate feel, the lights are low and that's where you end up afterwards anyway. Then you don't have to try and convince people to go in there when the entertainment is over.

Disco - Everyone would go there and dance for about 30 mins after the entertainment but the majority would then leave and go to the hot tub...ourselves included.

Playroom - The playroom is right off the back of the disco and is a lot smaller in person than what it looks like in pictures. We obviously didn't spend much time in the disco but we only saw one couple go in there. If it were bigger and maybe tucked away a little bit more I think it would've been more conducive to playing.

Hot Tub - In our opinion, it could've been a little warmer. But that didn't seem to bother anyone because at night the hot tub was full for a couple of hours. Everyone was just hanging out having a good time. There were several day beds around the hot tub and those were full most nights with couples enjoying themselves.

People - We agree with everyone who has posted before, the people were fantastic! Everyone was super nice and we never felt pressure to do anything. We met a couple on the way to dinner one night and they invited us to eat with them. They asked if we were in the lifestyle (they were) but that's about it. We had a very fun conversation at dinner but never felt any pressure as the conversation weaved in and out of the lifestyle topic. The same goes for everyone else we met. Were there people who discreetly shot their shot? Yes. So there's opportunity if you want it. But a simple no works just as well and you can still have great conversation and meet some wonderful people. Also, I know the demographics vary by week but I would guess the average age was 55 while we were there.

Spa - Didn't go so can't give any details on that

I think that about covers the few days we were there. Let me know if you have any questions about our stay.

Moving nightly entertainment out of the disco was a bad idea. Not sure who dreamed that one up. Everything else has been great the three times we've gone. Having it in the disco to start made things more intimate, darker, cozier - and then you're right there to whoop it up after. The way it is now, is awkward, among other things.

We would agree that in the disco entertainment seems to flow better. Now if they could just get the DJ to mix the music better we'd all be better off

I think the idea for doing some of it outside came from 2 places. One...the idea that if you're not growing your regressing. In that regard, I applaud the effort to improve a product. Two...they seemed to roll it out at Grand Miches (for the 2 minutes it was open). We were lucky enough to go there once they seemed to have their shit together, and I will say there, it worked quite well. We were at Pearl in June and December of '23 and all entertainment was still in disco. We went to Grand Miches in October '23 and it was mostly outdoors. In '24 was when we really noticed the shift at Pearl to more outdoor/lobby shows.

I do appreciate the effort to try something new...just my $.02.

ps...thanks for the report, and apologies for not leading with that. We love the place and always enjoy hearing about others adventures

We were at Pearl in early March 2025 for 7 days. BB and I spoke to Caio Cesar, Night GM. He said they tried the lobby for entertainment. Feedback from guests was poor. He said they were switching it back. The entertainment was only in the lobby the first night we were there. Not sure if it has gone back to the lobby, but they seemed to be listening to guests!

We usually sit outside of the disco, near or at the lobby bar. The disco is too loud for us. We can still hear it from outside andpeople passing by the bar stop to chat with us.
Some are reigniting the flame. Ours never burned out. Just dumping gas on it!
