A Deal Breaker!,

We just returned from 5 wonderful days at Desire RM. 3 Couples went down to visit Pearl one day and we had awesome time!! It is beautiful!! We loved the fact that people on beach were close to pool so they could participate in pool activities as well . They gave us one beach bed , I guess since we were visiting. we were told that only people staying in passion suites could get beds. We are all in our 50's and need to get out of sun a little. this will b a deal breaker for us! too bad because the place is beautiful!!!!!

We spent 8 days there in early Sept 2012 and really didn't miss having a beach bed. There are lot's of loungers on the beach under the palm trees(that actually provide more shade than most of the beds at RM). Also lots of loungers around the pool with larger umbrellas as well

Yeah if that's a deal breaker you didn't look around much…. As Coke says there are a lot of loungers on the beach with excellent cover from the palms & palapas - even better sun protection than the "passion Suite" lounge beds. Even around the pool there are more than enough sunbrella's for those who want them; all you have to do is ask and the pool staff will carry an unused one to where you are sitting. We were there in Early Sept 2012 as well (going back early March 2013 - oh wait 2 weeks from now) and never had a problem finding shade when we needed it, and still managed tp stay in the middle of the action.

Sounds like a non-issue to me.

I thought you can still use the beds, but only those in the suites can actually "reserve" them? Is this not the case? It personally doesn't really matter to me since it seems there will be more than enough shade elsewhere, but I thought I read that somewhere??? My hubby and I are just liking the thought of having some "fun" on one of the beds for something new. Maybe we can sneak a visit on one of them early in the morning? I actually think the palapas are more "tropical" anyway.
