Convenient room

My wife is recovering from an accident and needs to limit all the walking. We've only been to Pearl a few times and it's been a while. What rooms/buildings would be a good choice for a convenient ground floor room? We only book the basic room, but could upgrade if it would mean a significant difference.

You can only book a room type, not a specific room. And since the room types are quite widely scattered in round the resort not sure how booking a specific type would benefit. Think all you can do is ask when you check in and hope they can meet your needs.

I don't think that the basic room (Ocean View) is on the main floor of any of the buildings. I think they are all at least 1 floor up. We always do the basic Ocean View Room and always have some stairs to climb.
CokeMan or some other members/vets may have a better answer for you.

There are a couple rooms in that category 1 step up. But when we have had them they’ve been further away from everything. Otherwise it has been 4-5 steps up or down to the room

In this case it may actualy be better to book a lower end room. If you book one of the lower end rooms like ocean view or junior suite, they often (at check-in) try to upsell you to a higher unit. THat is your opportunity to pick where you want to be. Make getting the floor and/or building of your choice a condition of going for the upsell.

We just got back and for the second time in a row we got room 22, a master suite that is at ground level on the sliding glass door side and one level of steps down on the entry door side. It is mere steps from the hot tub and maybe 25 steps from the pool. Also pretty close to the front desk area. All ground level sliding glass doors automatically lock if you close them tight, we would close them just enough to make it look closed but not enough to let them lock except at night for sleeping. We checked in at 9:30am, well before any room was available and on check in they asked if we had a room preference. We asked to be close to the pool/hot tub.
