Scuba at Pearl

After our recent trip to Pearl, I feel I have to put in a shameless plug for Cesar and Oliver at the dive shop at Pearl. Cesar provided excellent instruction, and Oliver shot a top-notch video of our two open water dives. Their equipment was in excellent condition (very new), and they really went above and beyond to ensure that our first dive experience with them went off without a hitch.

A dive shop at Pearl??? I didn't know they have one there. Do they provide "free lessons in the pool" like some of the other resorts?

The dive shop is located at the north side of the resort along the sidewalk that leads to the pier/ocean.

They got us 'hooked' by offering a free trial of using the equipment in the pool. The lessons are free if you pay to go diving with them

Thanks! I'll have to let me husband know; I've done the pool dive, but haven't had the courage to try the ocean with all the critters!

I highly recommend it. We were at Pearl for eight days, so had plenty of time for it. We also got our PADI basic scuba diver certification while we were there (read the book, wrote the test, etc.). We'll definitely be incorporating diving into all future vacations.

We are SCUBA certified and went on a dive with the dive shop in December. It was a lot of fun, not too much too see compared to other dives but still great to be in the water and at the reef. TIP = if you plan to dive don't drink the evening before
