If you look through the forums, the topic of the open-air lobby palapa being turned into enclosed time share offices has been repeatedly panned by all. See this poll thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2143 . We didn't get it when they did it a couple years ago, still don't, and keep hoping that when we return we'll walk through those doors and see it has been returned to it's former state. Although they really do listen to guests, unfortunately that's one thing we don't see them listening to....

We were there the week before you, they fogged for bugs twice, and actually had to outrun them back to the room one night coming down from the hot tub, surprising that they stopped.....

Y'know, we wish it were cheaper too....but...it's a business. They are there to make money. Desire is no different than any other resort. Actually, go price other resorts in the area. They're all in the same ballpark......and from an occupancy standpoint, there is no incentive at all for a lowering of rates, the resort is doing great. Pearl, on the other hand.....

I'm not PO'd - lol

You just repeated what where my impressions and frustrations from our last several trips, most recently May 2013.

To reiterate, what Powderfinger, myself and almost every other long term repeat offender feel
- WTF did they close the larger palapa area from public use !

We have constantly complained to management about this to no avail. In addition the other thing that by enclosing that area has done is block the flow of air through the whole lobby area resulting in a higher bug population.

True enough - and they'd better sell a whole bunch of gold bands in that palapa considering the price has raised and the return has dropped since a few years ago. In the rain, that place is key.

Maybe they'll read this stuff and come up with a better plan

Desire's management does not care. The palapa was our favorite place to hang with our friends, far enough away from the load music but close enough for the fun.

Agree with that olderII. While we do appreciate the entertainment, the best thing about Desire is meeting and talking to new people. Since they
closed in the palapa it is impossible to escape the noise and actually talk to anyone.

face it folks, they know they have us by the short hairs. there is no other place around that has what they have and they know it. they can continue to raise prices, make a few cosmetic changes to keep some of us happy, but in the end, its a beautiful place where great people come to watch and play and we'll continue to go until some other place opens up to give them competition. now that i've said that, a few friends of ours are doing the cruise thing so that might be an option someday.

if they cared about what we thought, they'd have torn down that fn building the day after we posted that poll. they dont. so be it.

If management are reading this, they need to be aware of how things are at Caliente Caribe during lifestyle takeover weeks.
Wake up and listen or go under.

We had no idea Caliente had Takeover weeks.
Def something to look into.
We'd also like to see the new owners @ Hedo do some improvements.
We loved Hedo III, but Hedo II is a dump and we'll have to see lots of improvements to give it another chance.

We got back yesterday from our 15 th trip, second this year. We agree on the lobby area. We were really disappointed to see that the majority of the cushions in the lobby area had disappeared. Housekeeping would bring down towels to sit on. Just not classy at all. They cancelled the repeater party due to a party one of the groups were having so no opportunity to bring this up to management. Also the Mosquitos were still real bad.

We noticed that a couple weeks ago as well, maybe two or three cushions for all the lobby chairs, what is up with that?!?! The change of chairs at the pool is not for the better either....all the sunbeds they had, that were so comfortable, all gone now, replaced by the typical cheap plastic loungers. Not good changes.

WHAT? No cushions for the chairs in the lobby area? pool beds replaced by cheaper ones? WTF? uh-oh, I am a lil fearful now, heading there in 2 weeks and hope its not going "HEDO" (where they are being cheap) on us.....
