A few notes from our recent trip 7/10-7/18, 2025

Trip 13 to RM, so not a lot to cover (trip 3 since Eden)

As usual we paid for an Oceanview room and had the beach bar at our doorstep (room 2201). What a pleasant surprise to meet Jenny, the new beach bartender. We cannot say enough good things about this lovely young lady. Exceedingly cute and kind, we hope many will go visit her for drinks throughout the day. All due respect to Cici, but Jenny is a great find. We hope she's there (selfishly) for many years to come.

Seemingly a new offering is a beach BBQ on Friday (I think) evenings. They went all out with the set up and arrangements. Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Run to this if offered during your time at RM.

Music was, dare I say....better (in the disco). Now, being there 8 nights we heard many of the same songs each night, but it was all danceable well into the evening. Even the pre-show in the lobby had very good music. Granted, most folks sat around like at a high-school dance, but if you were inclined, you could cut a rug. (We're mid-50's so it's all relative, I suppose).

I was a huge dissenting voice when the free wet services in the spa were taken from us (steam, sauna, etc). It's still free at Pearl and it's lovely there. Nice steam room with an option to cool off with a shower head. Plunge pool afterward. Great setup. We used the RM spa once (members get one free day of these services). Great service, but determined the spa isn't great. The steam room is just ok-- no shower to cool off. They have a cold room near the steam, but that's way different than staying put and just cooling off while still enjoying the steam. They really, really missed the ball here. Simple was better.

The place was packed. Dance floor was fun- not a lot of room to move, but that's kinda the idea. Playroom was plenty busy and the jacuzzi beds similarly, even in the hot, steamy weather.

For those that always ask- full nudity was maybe 10-15%- we were in the minority. Plenty of board shorts and saw several full bikinis on display. It doesn't affect our trip one iota so no biggie, but I know to some it's a big deal.

Back to Pearl in May the day after the teacher is out of school. July trip likely back to RM, but plenty of time to decide that.

We agree with your comments on the spa. Seems more and more that use to be included is now an up charge, from the spa to dinner reservations(if you order extras like a $350USD tomahawk steak or other add ons, you get preferential treatment) to different types of alcohol, so much for membership. Also, why do people pay the higher prices to be at Desire then keep their clothes on? It just doesn't make sense.
