We did the second week in April the last 2 years and had perfect weather.

June starts their rainy season, so you can expect some rain every day. It's mainly short showers, but you could also get stuck in a tropical system. Other than the rain, August is VERY hot, so if you are sensitive to the heat and not used to the strong sun, you could be negatively affected by that. We have gone in several different months, from Dec thru May, and honestly, it's hit or miss. We have had very chilly nights in April and very warm ones in Dec. You will always have a good time, though, so don't stress too much. Basically, if you are deciding between April and August, I would definitely choose April.

We like October...we have been there during that time 3 out of the 4 times we have gone and the weather was perfect except for a couple rainy days in the 20 or so days those dates included. I know you are on the tail end of hurricane season, but we have been lucky so far. We are going this year in December and interested to see how the weather will be compared to what we are used to. Either way, we will no doubt have a blast!
