I've been reading guest feedback regarding the quality of food in the buffet not quite up to standards.
I am interested in hearing from those who have ordered room service. What was the quality of food like? Selection? Costs? Etc.

Thanks in advance.

Pro's and cons of room service.....

Same food....just delivered to your room. While hotel always tries for quick service...don't order if hungry.

Uninvited guests.....usually with extra legs or antennas usually show up for desert. Also...when finished...you have a not so big room to begin with now filled with dirty dishes.

PLUS...privacy and one on one time. Of course, one of the greatest parts of DESIRE is socializing with other people...soon to be your new best friends...at meal time.

My wife can't move w/o breakfast in bed so I go down and bring back coffee and fruit...and then go eat with friends...or make new ones.

BOTTOM LINE: except in cases of bad sunburn, hangover, or illness.....who needs room service?

Just one man's opinion.

Agree with Don. We've only ordered room service 2 or 3 times over the years at Desire and then only when one of us wasn't feeling great.
The current room service charge is $5 .

2 years ago stayed ocean front and had breakfast every day on the balconey. Food great and service swift. Outstanding way to start the day!! Last year garden view and didn't try a repeat as the view is part of the experience....

My wife had one night during our recent stay where she wasnt feeling to well and just wanted to stay in and eat.

Since our room had a nice seating area and was kept at a balmy 66 degrees (Brrrrr...her idea, not mine ), I ordered room service. The selection was pretty basic (hamburger, soup, club sandwich, chocolate cake, salad etc) but the food quality was fine.
After a very easy call to the front desk to order , Memo, one of our favorite waiters, brought us our meal (Very quickly) and set it all up for us on the coffee table and made sure that we wanted for nothing. He was concerned about the bugs and animals and said he would swing by again in an hour to collect the dishes.......and He did. Another case of amazing service !

This was the first time in several visits that we ordered room service. Would we order it again ? Absolutely ! It was a nice break in the action to lounge in our room and talk and rest up.

BTW, Although the resort charges $5 for the service, it wasn't on our bill at checkout......
