Hi
We are taking our first trip to Desire on May 28th through June 4th. Our grown children are asking for the name of the Resort where we are staying. Does anyone have the name of a Vanilla Resort near Desire? Also, I think I saw once a phone number that family can call in case of an emergency that would be Vanilla also.

Any help you can give will really make this trip special.

Liz & Gil

PS This board has been so helpful in answering any questions we have had.

There's a resort next door to the north named
Azul. We've had to use that on occasion when people began asking too many questions.

Can't help you on the resort name but according to the www.desire.originalresorts.com website you can get more info on a family friendly number by:

IS THERE A FAMILY FRIENDLY NUMBER THAT I CAN GIVE TO MY RELATIVES SO THAT THEY CONTACT ME DURING MY VACATION?

Yes, please send the following information to: guestservice@desireresorts.com and we will contact you with more information and the number that can be used.

•Full Names
•Arrival and departure date to Desire
•Hotel Confirmation Number

Azul is not adults only though so if you use that name make sure you don't describe where you are going as such. Dreams (I think thats the name of it) is supposed to be a pretty nice adults only all inclusive place close by. We actually know a couple that has had to give this resort out as a recommendation to other couples that ended up going there due to their recommendation and were very happy with it.

I think the nearest Adult only is Excellence (about 20 mins walk along the beach )

We stayed at Excellence Riviera Cancun a couple of years ago. Great upper end resort! It's about a 5min cab ride south of Desire. It's where we told family and friends we visited when we were @Desire last year.

The so called vanila number used by Desire is answered Oringinal Reorts. Kids being what they are will surely google Original Resorts.

When asked I usually say I don't remember as my wife made the reservations.. Or you can email me as my Droid works everywhere.

Kind of gets you tongue tied everytime someone asks.

Why not say that you are just going to hire a car, drive around and just take pot luck. You can communicate by text in the first instance if an emergency arises.

Many booking agencies, for example Apple Vacations, offer deals where you get assigned the resort when you arrive (or usually just 1 week prior to your departure), but it's not unusual to be upgraded at the last minute.

Look at Apple's website and you'll see their "Apple Deals". Tell 'em you booked one of the Deals, give a resort name 1 week before you leave, and then tell them it changed at the last minute.

Really NO REASON FOR PHONE NUMBERS when most all cell phones work in Mexico, and you can check email daily with your computer, or with the computers in the lobby.

Liz and Gill, Secrets Silversands is an adult-only resort located approximately a half-mile south of Desire. On our last trip to Desire while on a beach walk I ventured onto the grounds and even sat at the beachside bar there. You can easily learn about the resort on-line and even see some of it in person (including taking a few picture) while you are at Desire. Prior to our first trip to Desire in 07 we were going to do a split trip - Desire and Secrets Capri (this was before Secrets Silversands was opened). We ended up cancelling Secrets and staying the week at Desire, but I knew so much about the resort that I have to this day mentioned to others (when asked) that I stay at a Secrets Resort. BTW, see you this Saturday at Desire!
