Dinner attire

A little help for a newbie is appreciated. I have read numerous posts about what to wear to dinner and am still confused. I know for two of the restaurants it is dressier, but not sure exactly what that means. Are designer jeans and a button down shirt good or is it slacks and a dress shirt?

Your idea of designer jeans and button down shirt will be fine. I will tend to wear resort pants, slacks, along with a sexy shirt for my wife. My wife always dresses the part; therefore, so do I.
