Empty Nesters

Hello Everyone,
We are new to the fourm. We are empty nesters who are looking at going to Desire in January 2012 for a first time vist. The posts on this site have been very helpful, but we do have a couple of questions. First, does Desire have mini bars in the rooms? Next, how early does the gym open? Lastly, we love our hot tub at home, does the resort have just one big one or several smaller ones?

We hope to choose a week when there are no large take over groups there, so we can get our feet "wet". Since we are both in our early fifties, we hope we are not too old. I guess if you see a couple who are "wide eyed" and some what clueless it will be us. LOL

The rooms are stocked with beer, water and soda, unless you get a Passion Suite and then I think, that they'll bring you anything that you ask for. You'll also have a butler. I think that the gym opens around 8:00, but I've never looked earlier than that. There is only one big hot tub, unless you get a jacuzzi suite or a passion suit and then you have your own personal jacuzzi in room. The rooftop jacuzzi is alot of fun tho', even for those of us in our 50's.

As Chono said, all rooms have a mini bar restocked daily and you can often ask the attendant to only stock with beer, or only with water, etc etc.

Only one hotub, but thats what makes it so much fun !

Although I don't know the official hours, I have been in the gym as early as 7am a couple times (for those times when my wife was asleep )
Its quite basic but it's more than adequate for a vacation workout.

BTW, Trying to ID you by the wide eyes would be hard, cause thats how almost everyone looks on their first trip . Worry not, you will blend right in !

Definately consider a Jacuzzi Suite if you enjoy 1 on 1 time in the hot tub

Gym...what's that, lol. I have no idea.

We have been to Desire in January in years past and really enjoyed ourselves. It seems to be a bit quiter after the holiday seasons.

Thanks for the info guys. We have been to Cancun, too many kids, and another all-inclusive close to Desire. It was nice but too laid back. So we are seeking a more exciting vacation and Desire looks like it. We are looking at the middle of January 2012.

All I know that is if you make too much noise in the steam room you get kicked out... LOFL
